The Osoyoos Visitor Information Counselor demonstrates excellence in customer service and retail sales. They are responsible for creating remarkable experiences for visitors to Osoyoos and the area, ensuring that each traveller has an unforgettable experience. This position offers a professional, driven individual the opportunity to be a positive contributor in a vibrant and dynamic industry.
The role of the Visitor Information Counselor will also include receiving product inventory, maintaining merchandising and displays, and assisting customers with sales purchases.
The Visitor Service role will also require assisting the Visitor Services Supervisor and Destination Osoyoos management with tasks and projects where applicable.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Greet visitors in the Centre and answer all visitor inquiries in-person, online, and through reception phone;
-Collect Visitor data and keep information up to date in office and online
-Maintain a clean and sanitized environment for visitors and staff
-Assist with the development and maintenance of databases for facilities, events, attractions, building inventories and more within Osoyoos and area
-Develop and maintain visitor information handouts and brochures
-Assist customers with retail purchases and maintain a tidy retail space
-Receive inventory and assist with restocking
-Assist with stock counts
Required Skills & Abilities:
-Sufficient knowledge, interest in, and passion for Osoyoos and the surrounding area;
-Exceptional customer service and experience working with the general public in a friendly, customer- service oriented way
-Strong experience in Microsoft Office- (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe is required;
-Experience in a retail environment is an asset;
-Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal;
-Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail;
-Ability to work well with others, be self-motivated, and reliable and maintain an expected level of professionalism (i.e., punctuality, approachability & dress code);
-Ability to work weekends and holidays, the visitor centre is open up to 7 days a week during the summer months

Wages
$18.00/hour
